Description

"...Her hand reaches out and I clutch it like a lifeline. As if it’s me who’s dying instead of Rue.
“You blew up the food?” she whispers.
“Every last bit,” I say.
“You have to win,” she says.
“I’m going to. Going to win for both of us now,” I promise...

Lately i'm really obsesed with The Hunger Games trilogy, i'm almost finishing the third book, and I couldnt help to make a fanart of one of the most emotive momments from the book: Rue's death. I really like this character and I want to make her my little tribute. As well, I must say that the great Amandla Stenberg played a great role as Rue on the film ^^

The drawing: It has been difficult, but i have enjoyed a lot and I really like the result ^^
I took some pics of Amanda Stenberg as reference:

And this one for the outfit design, from an action figurine toy (LOL) [link]

And here you can see the first pencil sketch: [link]

I think i will be doing for a while some fanarts of the hunger games. I think all the people should read those books LOL They are really great.

I will upload soon some pictures of the work in progress of this drawing and I willl post the links here too :) hope you enjoy my art ^^

Vision: The white tips of the grass give a really nice illuminating effect on Rue, and they compliment the utterly shocking effect of the white flowers she is holding. By the way, I love the bright white of the flowers against the dark background of her clothing. She looks peaceful, as if in a deep sleep. The way you portrayed her in this painting is really great, and you get the feeling that she is no longer suffering.
Originality: It's good, 4.5 because she already exists
Techinque: I love the lighter parts on her face, showing light and radiance and true beauty, because this is just what Rue has, and she means so much to so many people, that she really deserves to be portrayed peacefully.
Impact: I can't even. This is so powerful; magic almost. It actually brought tears to my eyes. Bravo.
